Actually, Steve is so much identified along with his group that many refer to him by the name of the band. The California-based group was formed in 1994 by Harwell himself, who united Kevin Coleman (drums), Greg Camp (guitar), and Paul De Lisle (bass guitar) in what came to be Smash Mouth. To date, they have released seven albums with Magic (2012) being their latest. Through the years, the group has also embraced retro designs covering several decades of popular music. They are also known for performing countless covers of popular tunes like I am a Believer (The Monkees), Why Can’t We Be Friends? Besides his work with the group, Harwell enjoyed a different type of fame after he was cast in the sixth season of VH1’s reality show The Surreal Life.
