Paul Auster Net Worth: Paul graduated from Columbia University and moved to Paris, France to interpret French literature. His first fiction novel Squeeze Play was printed in 1982 below the pseudonym Paul Benjamin. Auster went to publish 18 novels including The New York Trilogy. His first book of poetry Unearth was printed in 1974 and he’s published seven poetry publications. He’s written five screenplays and eight novels that consist of essays, memoirs, or autobiographical content. Auster writes a mixture of crime fiction, existentialism, absurdism, as well as the search for personal meaning and identity. He’s won several IMPAC Awards along with an Independent Spirit Awards for Best First Screenplay for Smoke, as well as a Prince of Asturias Award. For Smoke he was likewise nominated for Cesar Award for Best Foreign Film in 1996.
