Twins Richard and Ronald Lee Simmons and Joseph and Michael Mayer played Arnaz as a kid; later Keith Thibodeaux took on the job. As Richard grew up, Arnaz became more enthusiastic about show business, and began drumming in a group with other teenagers. The group released two hit singles in 1965. Arnaz started his performing career with the appearance on “Here’s Lucy” alongside his mom and sister. Arnaz starred in 1977’s “Joyride” with Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith. He continued to concentrate on his performing career through the ’80s, appearing in “The Mambo Kings” as Desi Arnaz and on an episode of “Saturday Night Live”.
