Cliff Burton net worth: He was best known for being the bassist for the heavy metal band Metallica. Burton joined the group in 1982 and played on their first three studios records. Metallica’s second album Ride the Lightning was launched in 1984 and was certified 6x Platinum. Their third album Master of Puppets premiered in 1986 and was additionally certified 6x Platinum selling nearly five million copies. Burton also received a posthumous writing credit for the tune “To Live Is to Die” on Metallica’s fourth album …And Justice For All. Burton was named the 9th best bassist ever by way of a Rolling Stone readers’ survey in 2011. In 2013 Aria guitars released the Aria Pro II Cliff Barton Touch Bass Guitar. Cliff Burton passed away on September 27, 1986 in the age of 24. He was killed in a bus accident while Metallica was on tour in Sweden.
