Kenny Baker net worth: He’s best known for his portrayal of R2D2 in the Star Wars franchise of films. He and Anthony Daniels, the actor who played C3PO, are the sole actors to have a character in all six Star Wars movies. Baker stands 3 ft 8 inches tall and was born and educated in Birmingham; his parents were of average height. He’s the only child in his family, and wanted to follow in his daddy’s footsteps and become an engraver, however he didn’t receive sufficient education to do this, so he pursued a career in the entertainment industry. He worked for a period in a theatrical troupe of dwarves and midgets, and later joined a circus for a brief time. He formed an effective comedy act called Minitones with Jack Purvis and shortly after, George Lucas hired him to be the guy inside R2D2 in the first Star Wars film in 1977. Baker appeared in all of the Star Wars movies and had an extra role in Return of the Jedi as “Paploo,” the Ewok who steals an Imperial speeder bike. Through the British television series, Bring Back Star Wars, Baker disclosed a feud between him and the performer who plays C3PO, Anthony Daniels. Baker claims Daniels continues to be rude to him on numerous occasions and stated that Daniels is rude to everyone, including devotees. Along with his work in Star Wars, Baker has also appeared in movies like The Elephant Man, Time Bandits, Willow, Flash Gordon, Amadeus, and Labyrinth. He was married to Eileen Baker from 1970 until the time of her passing in 1993 and the couple have two kids; their kids didn’t inherit their parents dwarfism. It was declared that Baker will reprise his role as R2D2 in Star Wars Episode VII, which will be slated to be released on December 18, 2015.
