J.J. Cale Net Worth $15 Million

J.J. Cale Net Worth: He moved to La during the early ’60s before starting his performing career and took work as a studio engineer. Cale began composing tunes and released his debut record “Naturally” in 1972. The exact same year, he recorded his biggest hit single in the U.S.: “Crazy Mama”. It rose to number 22 on the graphs, and he afterwards told the story of how he turned down an appearance on “American Bandstand” with Dick Clark to encourage the track. Cale released over a dozen studio albums between 1972 and 2009, including “Troubadour”, “Nuances”, “Grasshopper”, “Number 10, “Closer to You”, and “To Tulsa and Back”. Several of his tunes went on to be covered by well-known musicians like Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Santana, John Mayer, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Cale expired from heart failure in the age of 74 in July 2013. A year after, Eric Clapton & Friends recorded and released the record, “The Breeze: An Appreciation of J.J. Cale”, which features covers of his songs performed by well known artists.

#Quote
1I used to write more about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. I don't do that quite much as I used to, and it's a little bit more 'old man' philosophy.
2When I sit down and play the guitar, I am 20 years old again.
3I'd like to have the fortune, but I don't care too much about the fame.
4Basically, I'm just a guitar player that figured out I wasn't ever gonna be able to buy dinner with my guitar playing. So I got into songwriting, which is a little more profitable business.
