In accordance with physician’s strict orders and due to health problems related to inner-ear nerve damage; he will also be unable to join .38 Special onstage in the near future. Donnie will continue to compose and record with the group.” It was pronounced later in 2013, nevertheless, that Donnie Van Zant had formally left .38 Special and was retiring.
