Teen Dawkins first revealed his gift for bball in high school, after which he became among the few to go right to the NBA. Additionally, he’s made it to the NBA Finals three times as an associate of the Philadelphia 76ers in the late 1970s and early 1980s. On one other side, Dawkins establish an NBA record for fouls in a season (386 in 1983 84), never quite living up to the expectations that were piled upon him after he was picked from high school. Nevertheless, he could be still remembered for his strong dunks that earned him the nickname, Chocolate Thunder. Off the court, he composed his autobiography titled Chocolate Thunder: The Uncensored Life and Times of Darryl Dawkins, coauthored with Charley Rosen. The novel narrates his on and off-the-court life as an NBA star. Dawkins now lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Sadly,Darryl Dawkins expired on August 27, 2015 in the age of 58.
