Billy Mays was an American television direct-reply ad salesperson best known for marketing OxiClean, Orange Glo, Kaboom, and other cleaning, home based, as well as care goods in the Home Shopping Network. After dropping out, he worked for his dad’s hazardous waste firm before moving to Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1983. About the Atlantic City boardwalk Mays sold the Washmatik mobile washing apparatus to passersby, in addition to other “As Seen on TV” products.

Mays was subsequently hired by the organization to market their line of cleansers, OxiClean, Orange Clean, Orange Glo, and Kaboom, around the Home Shopping Network in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 2009, the Discovery Channel started airing “Pitch Men”, a documentary series that featured Mays in his occupation in direct-response marketing. Mays died on June 28, 2009 of cardiovascular disease. Mays was 50 years old.
